The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking. ”

Albert Einstien

Senior Research and Development Engineer

Mechanical Designer of Modular Conveyor Systems

and Automation

If I had to use one word to best describe myself, that word would be “creative.” I say that because it's built into who I am from my early childhood on up through my professional career as an R & D engineer. Having extensive experience and a diverse background in mechanical design, together with my personal achievements of education in business administration and computer science, I have a unique advantage in the ability to unify all these disciplines into a creative force that can look at a project from all sides of a design and manufacturing standpoint; and produce a product or product line that is cost effective, efficient by design, fully functional, and esthetically appealing.

My strengths are an intuitive set of principles that translate into a successful work ethic. Understanding the customer's needs; maintaining scope of design within budget; thoughtful planning of designs through automated 3D CAD methodologies with recyclable potentiality; and team building—understanding that no man is an island unto himself, that the design department must work as a cohesive unit with a common goal that each will share in the success of the whole.

Diversity of thought and ideas translates into innovation. Communication and interface with other departments within the company is vital to maintaining a competitive edge in todays market. Capturing the vision of upper management, listening to sales to understand the needs of the customer, solving problems in manufacturing through effective planning in design, and perpetuating constant improvement through the monitoring of feedback from end users and service personnel is a recipe for success for both my department and the company.

I have developed successful leadership skills in project coordination through a simple philosophy of courtesy, respect, and the insight to recognize the strengths and abilities of co-workers; and to successfully delegate modules of responsibility that best fit that individual. I've trained many junior engineers and instilled the same ethics that I teach my children, and that is to “always do your best work.” I believe that it is important to take the extra time up front in the design process to “get it right” than to step backward in the manufacturing process to “make it right.”

Experience is wisdom and wisdom has value.
